Respect our Beloved Prophet as he is more dearer to us than even our parents or any leader
Humans are considered most intelligent and civilized creation in the universe, yet their conduct is not up to the mark. Irony is that in a world where so-called peace bearers claim to be most civilized and tolerant, Humans have yet to learn co-existence. Tolerance, mutual respect, empathy and sympathy are supposed to be fundamental values in any civilized society, but people individually and collectively as nations tend to ignore these values quite often.
Intellect requires that we try to understand each other and remove discords where possible while civility & impartiality requires while sticking to our own opinions we must spare place for other's opinions. Justice & fair play requires that we treat others the same way we would expect them to treat us. All people are born equal irrespective of their faith, color, ethnicity or nationality, it is then us, the tyrants, who degrade others to feel our selves privileged. Also, It remains a fact that certain figures are very beloved and more dearer to us than even our own selves; for most of us, such figures tend to be our parents or a trustworthy leader for whom we are ready to sacrifice our own lives.
But for us, the Muslims, around 1.8 billion people in the world, roughly 24% of the global population, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is even more dearer to us than our parents or any leader. In recent years, Muslims have been most persecuted religious group around the world, they are victim of ever-growing hate crimes, racism and Islamophobia. How is it fair, that an individual or a group of people is hated just because of its beliefs! Is it not injustice, biased and narrow-minded approach to disrespect loved ones of someone just to hurt his sentiments! It is unfortunate, that the West, which considers itself most civilized, peace-loving, champion of human rights, is itself biggest culprit of such crimes against Muslim communities. Western countries (especially France) have failed to give Muslims their basic right, freedom to profess religion which is included by United Nations in its HR charter "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" while at the same time they are allowing certain organizations to disrespect Prophet (PBUH) of Muslims and hurt their sentiments in the name of freedom of speech/expression. The bans on head scarfs and burkinis in France are known to all nor is hidden the tacit and explicit support of French govt. for extremist "Charlie Hebdo" magazine's activities that hurt sentiments of Muslim community. This support is reflected by recent display of Charlie Hebdo cartoons that disrespected Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on French govt. buildings.
This unfair, shameful, hurtful and provoking treatment on the part of certain organizations and governments is unbecoming of Humanity. Those in authority must take prompt actions to stop such hate crimes so that a just and peaceful environment may prevail all over world. So I urge United Nations and French Govt. to please stop such hate crimes that are hurting the sentiments of Muslims worldwide. And I also urge Muslims, Muslim countries and bodies such as Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Muslim World League to convey with wisdom the heartfelt feelings of Muslims to all the world so that such activities may stop. I urge people, Muslims and non-Muslims alike who are fair-minded, just and impartial to join me in this cause so that disgusting Charlie Hebdo cartoons are banned and the justice may prevail.
